Paradise

Thought id pop a pic of me and chicklet up as i dont think we have posted any yet? who said romance was dead?

Meghan and hitch hiker “disco dave” (we picked him up after he had a fall out with his bird and he decided to go it alone). This beach was super remote with nothing around for miles. We were the only people here, not something that was uncommon in western Australia. No people anywhere….sometimes you just cant beat having no one around. When i think back to these times it make you realize how much city’s suck.

Disco Dave pops up later on down the line, so heres a little introduction for him “im the star of this movie”

We stopped off at a little beach in a town called Geraldton to ponder our next move / destination. Being free enables you to dabble with fate. Here we found Jeremy, a pretty comical crab and the same sort that appears Spongebob squarepants. I think hes called Crusty? Anyhow. After a few minutes of giggling like girls we let him be and put pedal to the metal. On to the next destination.

Leona captured this…..shes getting handy with the time capture machine.

There are so many photos to get through, i thought id leave it at that for now. Ill post some of the best shots later down the line, so until then, its farewell to murchison house farm.

This kind of shit spooks me out…just another skull or two. Wild country WA.

had to photograph the green, blue and pink…lost gala in the outback on the only post around.

Im sat writing and editing all this from one of the best citys in the world, but Sydney is nothing compared to the rural parts of australia. There is just something so breathtaking and vast about the outback, something that really hits home about how small we are on the grand scheme of things. The mixture of romance and danger is why i love the desert. Please please please do not try and tell me you have a better view on your way to work than this. We borrowed these sights for 45 minutes each day before the work began. God……..i miss it…..i really do. I would do anything to get back to Western Australia…….its where my hearts at.  I once spoke to steve, the owner of the reen road nursery ,and he began to shed a tear when he described to me his journey up the west coast. I never really understood why he was crying, not untill now anyway………….

This is merkin. He is/was a wild boar the farmer brought down with his telescopic rifle. Merkin used to harass the young goats and give them worms so he had to be disposed of. Its a shame, but thats farm life. While we are on the subject of shooting, it was pretty odd having loaded shooters lying around the 4×4. Poor old merkin, at least his brain cage lives on to tell the tale via t’interweb.

You never quite get used to the noxious smell of death. In australia, in the outback, the smell of death is pretty much always present. The worst smell is dead goat…….they kick up a stink even when they are alive. In 50 degree heat, the smell gets worse. Almost makes you sick…..We devised a method to combat this..tshirt round the mouth. Stopped the flies too.

Can you believe this vintage beast is still working! I reckon its from the bald man comb over era or maybe even earlier. Proof of the pudding that they dont make them like they used to.

Just when we thought the “graft” couldn’t get any harder, we had to de construct a fence on a  super steep mountain and move it elsewhere. This place was just about accessible with a 4wd. Thats leonas little legs peeping out from the other side of the. Get stuck in girl.

Loved the yellow rope in the wind against the blue and orange landscape.
