Taking a trip down memory lane……..
As some of you may or may not know, Ive been to Australia before in 2000/2001. It was Perth where the last epic journey began, so its been both fun and surreal to check out all our old haunts. The following photos will look pretty boring to most, but to others these photos will jog the old brain bank and hopefully remind them of the amazing and horrid times we shared within these walls…. I managed to find the two houses we lived in (and got kicked out of) and to be honest, so far, they are the only things that haven’t changed about Australia. Both houses seem to be stuck in time. The second house which was pretty nasty back then, seems to have gotten a little more nasty…….The house in third photo down reminds me of sharing a shower with cockroaches, sleeping on a crack den style mattress that had rusty springs poking through and seeing my pal andy max burning his monobrow whilst experimenting with his cockroach termination techniques using aerosol cans and a lighter. Classic…..the cockroach got away by the way

We got speaking to a retired british couple (who were super happy that I had brought my own teabags from the uk because Australian brews are just as weak as their internet speeds), who seemed to be pretty clued up on where to go and eat outside of the tourist areas. They mentioned this Buddhist place that served a vegetarian buffet, where you pay how much you feel the food is worth……can you see that method of payment working in the uk?! The food was amazing, spicy chick peas, rice, vegetable curry, orange juice, tea and coffee and rice pudding for afters. It was eat all you want…We paid $10 each, and they seemed happy with that. My mate Rich Taylor would be all over this place. If you ever get to perth are you going to check it out? Me thinks that you should.
The Buddhist place is right near the big wheel you saw earlier in the blog. The same place where I filmed the cormorant. well, the old sausage was there again, and im guessing this is his spot. He let me get super close…..Australia’s wildlife do not care about humans…..its as though we are invisible.

Couldn’t resist another pic of Leona at the wheel too, sun was going down and the colours were too good to resist a shot.

After hearing some bad stories, witnessing a thing or two and speaking to some Indian dudes on the train, It seems pretty apparent that Australia has a racist undertone, ill be able to comment more on this as time goes by, but heres an example of the attitude a lot of rednecks have to non Australians……..car sticker on some redneck dunce mobile.

Maybe someone should tell the owner or maker of this propaganda, that in fact, Australia is as full as my head of hair.
I managed to get a days work with some yeeeehaaa cowboy landscapers where I helped build a wall amongst other things. Do you reckon my two Jeremy beadle hands have ever seen so much action? Im used to poncy, paints and cameras to make a living. A 35 degree temperature, working in direct sunlight and being slave driven by some irish arse tit saw me nose dive into bed with heat stroke at about 6pm …………..i think ill pass on another day of that thanks. Leona on the other hand sunned herself silly by the pool.
We checked out Scarborough beach but unfortunately we couldn’t swim as the swell was super dangerous. The Baywatch fun police had put up the “no swim” sign .We got a little video, but it looks super calm….believe…… it wasn’t. We will go check it out once we have wheels.

We found these roo statues downtown. Sorry I couldnt resist, its was as if the roo statue was was calling my name . Leona did it properly

In every park area in the city, they have free hot plates to cook your grub on , when in rome right? After cooking and feeding some odd bird our chicken scraps, we sat back and watched parrot after parrot fly on by…………….

Couldn’t resist snapping this either, the blue sky and obvious yellow Australian warning sign really stood out. Not to mention what the sign was warning drivers about. Turtles crossing?

Took this super nice campervan for a test drive today, it was a bit vintage but had a Big long wheel base, was automatic transmission and felt like a giant go kart. Never driven and automatic before, cant believe how easy it is. The van was fantastic to drive and im thinking of making an offer of $6200 tomorrow morning. Leonas feeling it too……….ill keep you posted.
